Here is the days journey that I needed to catch you up on! We are still on June 15th travel. First 3 pictures are at a road side rest area the wildflowers along the roads are so pretty I decided to let you see them as well. The lakes are in abundance also so I have a lot of pictures of them. We saw Black Bear number 5 not too far from the slide area and also a Moose standing in a shallow pond eating the vegetation off the bottom of it. The pictures of both aren't very good as the moose was too far away and we went by the bear so fast I barely got one picture that wasn't too good. Next we got to the slide that a few days earlier had closed the road down totally. At this time they were closing it from 8PM til 6AM I believe. The water was rushing across the road still and you can see a pickup that apparently had gotten caught in it. Last picture is the typical lap picture!! I have my Milepost book following along to see what I'm seeing where and how far it is til we get where we are going for the day.

The river was a pretty one that had this pinnacle rock sitting in it that was a bit unusual so I took that picture. More wildflowers that abound along the roads in that area I think are so pretty. Then we came to the
Cassiar Mountain Jade Store that I wanted to stop at. That was an interesting stop. You see the big rock? There were several sitting outside the store. They would take a slice off the edge so you could see it was indeed Jade. Apparently they ship these rocks to say China and they make all kinds of things out of them and ship the products back to the US to sell. A chunk of Jade then a nice fish made with a prettier kind of Jade. I was able to find a couple of earrings that match a Jade necklace that I have so I bought them. They had a lot of prettier things there but it is so high that I just looked and enjoyed what they had there and didn't try to buy anything else. Last but not least in this set is Punkin Head taking a bath on my lap. He does keep himself clean!!! He has been a real good traveler so far. Sleeps a lot.

This picture was just of a beautiful lake and the mountain behind it was different in that there were no trees on the upper portion, must have too much snow for trees to grow there. Then the next was taken in the same area but are different in that they still have snow on them. We have seen mostly beautiful scenery in most of British Columbia. Lastly here we are at the end of the Cassiar Hwy and now on the Alaskan Hwy or
Alcan Hwy as they call it. We stayed at the
Baby Nugget RV Park one night as we wanted to go on the next day and there was nothing to do in that area. We thought we were getting cable TV well let me tell you we got one station and it was so bad we couldn't watch it. But the internet did work at our site and that was supposed to be iffy. More later, stay tuned.
Great photos!
